Forty years ago, in a small garage in Qormi, a young and determined Andrew Vassallo began crafting steel doors, gates, and security grills, never imagining that his workshop would one day grow into one of Malta’s leading construction suppliers. With only a few tools, plenty of ambition, and the constant support of his wife by his side, Andrew laid the foundations of what would become a proudly Maltese success story.

From day one, family has been at the heart of the journey. Andrew’s father and brother supported the early operations, helping transform a humble garage workspace into a trusted company known across the Maltese Islands. Today, the legacy continues as both of Andrew’s children are actively involved in the company, ensuring that the same passion, values, and work ethic carry on to the next generation.

As opportunities expanded, the company took part in major projects including St. Helen’s Gate, the Housing Authority offices, Sant’ Antnin Recycling Plant, Hal Far Customs Groupage Bond, St. James Cavalier, Victoria Mansions, and many others, solidifying its reputation for quality, reliability, and craftsmanship.

In 1998, rising demand led to a move to a larger fabrication facility in Sta. Lucia, where the company also began importing construction and finishing materials. By 2005, all manufacturing, imports, and exports were unified under one strong and trusted company identity: Andrew Vassallo General Trading Ltd.

Growth accelerated in 2010 with a move to a modern 3000m² premises in Gudja, bringing fabrication, retail, and storage together under one roof. Innovation continued with the investment in a state-of-the-art uPVC production line in 2015, followed by the opening of a contemporary showroom in 2018, designed to elevate customer experience and showcase the company’s expanding range.

Today, as we proudly celebrate 40 years of building on quality, our team of over 70 dedicated professionals continues to serve Malta with custom aluminium, steel, and uPVC solutions, made-to-measure apertures, doors, gates, railings, fences, and more. In addition to fabrication, we also offer a wide selection of tiles, staircases, and raised flooring, giving clients complete solutions for both residential and commercial projects.
